ABC voted Australia’s most attractive employer
Public broadcaster the Australian Broadcasting Corporation has been voted Australia’s most attractive employer in the annual Ranstad Awards.
The ABC has this year beaten out the likes of Virgin Australia and BAE systems after finishing second a year ago.
“Winning the Randstad Award this year, following a strong result last year, means the ABC can confidently lay claim to being Australia’s most attractive employer,” said Deb Loveridge, managing director Randstad Asia Pacific.
Channel Seven also performed well taking out fourth place in the awards. This is the first time the television network has made the award’s top 20 list.
…that the ABC tops the list and so many other government departments are in the top 20… a) you cannot get fired, b) long-term service is rewarded, not aptitude or achieving results, and c) they are so over-staffed that the 2 hour lunch and 9.30am-4pm hours are standard practice!
Of course, they offer the best news coverage and deal with unearthed talent. Most impressed with quality of content being distributed from ABC. I’m surprised NBNco is not on there.
With $1.2 Billion of taxpayer’s money to spend, and no accountability whatsoever for that expenditure, it’s not surprising it’s good time all around at the ABC!
