ACMA’s head of communications Tom Burton departs watchdog
The Australian Communications and Media Authority’s (ACMA) head of communications and digital engagement Tom Burton has departed the agency.
The journalism and communications veteran, who was a long-time executive editor of the Sydney Morning Herald, was the ACMA’s executive manager for Gov 2.0, stakeholder engagement and communications, a role he had held for the past four years.
In a note to staff ACMA chairman Chris Chapman wrote: “Tom is to work on a project assisting the department of communications with its digital engagement.”
The head of the authority paid tribute to Burton role in the authority transforming its approach to digital and launching a redesigned website over the last year.
Good luck, TB.
Do we think Tom will replace Chris Warren as the first appointed CEO of the MEAA? You gotta wonder.
