Adlux to power Coles flybuys toolbar
Online marketing technology company Adlux has signed a deal with Coles to power the toolbar for its customer loyalty program flybuys.
The announcement:
One of Australia’s biggest brands, Coles, is working with online marketing and technology specialists Adlux to power its customer loyalty toolbar, after a major deal with a new publisher was signed.
The Coles flybuys browser toolbar, provided by Rakuten, is downloaded by loyalty program members enabling them to earn points and exclusive offers as they search online.
Searches using Adlux started around 28th December 2013. Unfortunately results aren’t very good and sometimes it doesn’t come up with anything at all. I also get Sydney’s weather forecast when I actually live in Adelaide. Google gives much better search results.
Hi Jen,
Thanks for your feedback on this – it’s important that we hear about different experiences from people using the toolbar. You’re very accurate when you say the searches started with Adlux on the 28th December 2013. Over the last fortnight we’ve been working hard to improve the user experience after the switchover. Our matching and relevancy technology has now bedded down and we’re hoping the results will improve for you.
We spoke to our developers specifically about your weather issue because, whilst the weather is considerably better in Adelaide, you should be able to keep tabs on the forecast just like the rest of us. Your location is IP based and whenever we can’t locate you, it currently defaults back to Sydney. Based on your feedback we will be turning off the weather widget if we are unable to locate your IP in the future.
