Australia’s Got Talent grand final smashes 2m
The two-hour grand final of Australia’s Got Talent, where the country’s top rookie performers sung it out for a $250,000 prize, pulled in an impressive 2.192m, according to preliminary metro ratings from OzTam.
This eclipses last year’s grand final ratings, which pulled in 1.831m.
It also beats the final of Junior Masterchef, which averaged 1.9m, but is no match for last year’s Masterchef final, which attracted an average of 3.962m.
The Seven show, which aired at the same time as Masterchef in the 7.30pm slot, pushed the Ten show down to 1.356m. The Block, which was on at 7pm, was the third most-watched show of the night, with 1.512m.
This show is terrific. Where could we sit in othe comfort of our own home and see such a show with incredible and varied acts and not pay a cent for the privilege? The only thing I could find fault with is the fact that the runner-up never got anything. Such a shame.
