Basketball fanmade logos featured in Footlocker OOH campaign

FootLocker’s ‘House of Hoops Mark of Greatness’, a mobile design tool that lets basketball fans create a player logo, has used the winning logo from a competition to feature in an out-of-home (OOH) campaign via BWM Isobar and Merkle.

The House of Hoops tool allows players to create their own player logo, in the spirit of other player logos such as Michael Jordan’s Jumpman logo.

The winner of the competition

Foot Locker’s senior director, marketing, Asia-Pacific Brendan Graham said: “The House of Hoops retail concept exists for those who live for hoops, it is one of Foot Locker’s most premium expressions of Nike and Jordan brand products.

“COVID’s impact accelerated our need to bring the innovative experience House of Hoops is known for at a physical retail level, into digital touchpoints. This idea embraced the culture of the modern game and gave our customers a truly engaging House of Hoops brand experience online and on mobile.”

The winner, named as 24 year-old Rico from Hamilton New Zealand, won the Australia and New Zealand based competition, and both he and his logo are featured in the OOH campaign.

32,000 people entered designs into the competition, with some of the other designs also featuring in the campaign.

Examples of the creative

Graham added: “This is all thanks to highly intuitive digital experience.”
