Beat The Star fades out as the host enjoys a beer in the shower

Seven’s gameshow Beat The Star ended its short life in primetime by shedding nearly 100,000 viewers more on its second outing.

The show – this week featuring a family testing their skills against former basketpall player Andrew Gaze – rated 14th for the night with an audience of 862,000. Seven has now ditched it from the Tuesday 7.30pm slot with no word on whether its remaining episodes will be run in the future.

Last week the show, hosted by Daniel MacPherson, made its debut with 955,000.

On Tuesday night the show again finished third, behind Top Gear on Nine (1.339m), and Talkin Bout Your Generation on Ten (1.365m), according to preliminary overnight metro figures from OzTam.
