Bellamy Hayden to close next week as Naked looks back to Singapore again
Naked Communications has confirmed details of its takeover of fellow Photon Group agency Bellamy Hayden.
It has also reannounced – more than three years since it first said so – that it will be opening an office in Singapore.
As Mumbrella revealed last week, the move will see Bellamy Hayden close its doors.
Staff from Bellamy Hayden will be moved into Naked offices in Sydney and Melbourne from a week on Friday.
I wonder how the Bellamy Hayden staff will fit into the wonderfully quirky Naked office space in Sydney? Will the infamous ideas room be converted into office space?
I wish them luck in Asia – it takes a long time and deep pockets to succeed. On top of that, there is absolutely no margin to be made in Singapore so alot of time on planes me thinks.
Ha ha I agree on the Asia thing. I could understand it if an agency was getting most of the business from all of the major businesses in each specific category…. i.e. its time to invest outside of our market… that said, I suppose it does create a “deflecting headline” for the current woes of the Photon Group…
Consolidation is a great thing especially when your parent is trying to conserve costs. Well done all hope the transition goes smoothly for you all.
Asia is a booming market with lots of opportunity. Our business (in media) started in HK some 6 years ago and its doing very well across that region. More Aussies should follow
I wonder if some of the old divisional people will get kicked in the ass on the way out the door? Here’s hoping so… but I think they’re great at preserving their own skins at the expense of others.
