Breakfast has been a closely fought battle throughout the year in Brisbane. After Nova and Hit 105 tied at the top in the previous survey, Nova dropped down to a 10.1% share this survey with the team of Ash Bradnam, Kip Wightman, David ‘Luttsy’ Lutteral and Susie O’Neill down one point. Hit held onto second position with an 11% share, but once again holding an equal score, this time with Triple M’s team of Greg Martin, Nick Cody and Margaux Parker – who took over from Robin Bailey in September – up 0.5 points from the previous survey.
Triple J breakfast came in with a 9.5% share, up 2.4 points from the previous survey. Triple J breakfasts hosts Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton finished up at the station on November 1, with Lucy Smith taking over the hosting position in the interim before new hosts Sally Coleman and Erica Mallet start in 2020.
ABC Brisbane dropped a point to a 9.1% share.
Nova’s decline in overall share, from an 11.9% to 10.4%, saw it slide down to forth position. Its one point loss in breakfast, was added to by drive hosts Kate Ritchie, Tim Blackwell and Marty Sheargold losing 2.6 points this survey. The trio – who have consistently dominated the drive slot this year – remained on top with a 14.1% share, despite the decline.
Also in overall ratings, Triple M lost 0.1 points landing on 10.9% audience share, and Hit 105 lost 0.4 points to take a 10.7% share.
Triple J gained two points, moving up to fifth on 9.6% and edging out 4KQ on 8.2%.
In drive, 97.3 FM was also up, gaining 1.3 points. The station’s team of ‘Will and Woody’ ended up with an 11.5% share, making them third in the slot.
Hit 105’s offering of Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little, followed by Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes and Ed Kavalee clawed back 0.2 points, after losing 1.5 points in the previous survey. Kavalee has been filling in for regular host Kate Langbroek, however it was announced earlier this month that he will be permanently taking her place in 2020, as she decided to extend her stay in Italy.
Triple M’s Mick Molloy and Jane Kennedy lost 0.1 points to hold a 10.9% share, ahead of Triple J on 9.6%
