Brisbane radio ratings: Robin Bailey’s return to 97.3 FM breakfast delivers a 10.1% share, while former home Triple M lands on 11.4%
The return of Robin Bailey and Terry Hansen to 97.3 FM’s breakfast line up with Bob Gallagher has delivered the station a 10.1% share in the first radio ratings survey of the year. It is a reunion for the trio who used to host the slot up for 10 years until 2016 when Bailey’s contract was not renewed.
The latest survey result is down 1.1 points from the last survey of 2019, when former hosts Bianca Dye and Mike Van Acker, alongside Gallagher, ended the year on top with an 11.2% share. In December, it was announced that Dye and Van Acker would not be returning to the program.

Leading the breakfast slot this survey was the Hit 105 team of Stav Davidson, Abby Coleman and Matt Acton, and Triple M’s The Big Breakfast with Greg Martin, Nick Cody and Margaux Parker, both on an 11.4% share.
Parker joined the Triple M lineup in September last year, taking over from Bailey who stepped down from the program earlier that month to spend more time with then-sick husband Sean Pickwell. Pickwell then passed away just a few weeks later.
For both Triple M and Hit 105, the first result of the year is an increase of 0.4 points from the previous survey.
Also in breakfast, Nova 106.9’s Ash Bradnam, Kip Wightman, David ‘Luttsy’ Lutteral and Susie O’Neill jumped 0.9 points to an 11% share.
Nova’s general manager in Brisbane, Jay Walkerden, is currently under internal investigation after an alleged incident overseas with one of the breakfast team members.
Boasting a new breakfast line up of Sally Coleman and Erica Mallet, Triple J dropped 2.1 points to an 7.4% share. Coleman and Mallet took over from Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton, who moved over to Adelaide’s Nova 91.9 breakfast show at the start of this year.

In drive, Nova 106.9 juggernaut Kate, Tim & Marty, entered the year on a high with a 14.6% share, up 0.5 points from the last survey of 2019. Nova was trailed by Australian Radio Network’s (ARN) 97.3 FM’s Will & Woody on an 11.9% share, up 0.4 points.
The SCA Hit 105 line up of Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little, followed by Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes and Ed Kavalee placed third after dropping 0.8 points to reach an 11% share. Towards the end of last year, Kavalee, who used to co-host 2Day FM breakfast in Sydney, began filling in for Kate Langbroek on the Hughesy and Kate show. It was announced in December that he would be taking over from her permanently.
Triple M’s drive program of Mick Molloy and Jane Kennedy lost one point this survey, making their audience share 9.9%.
Overall, 97.3 FM slid 1.6 points making the station’s audience share 10.9%, a hit after landing on top of the ratings at the end of last year.
SCA’s Triple M came out on top with an 11.3% share, up 0.4 points, closely followed by Nova which took a 0.7 point bump to deliver it an 11.1% share.
Hit 105 took an overall share of 10.8%, and Triple J lost 0.4 points to received 9.2% of the audience.
