Campaign Brief and AdNews: An apology
Yesterday, I messed up. I stumbled upon what I thought was a new ad for Hungry Jack’s on YouTube, and we wrote a short story about it.
It was a blunder because it had actually been around for a few weeks, and we should have checked properly.
Rightly, our readers gave us the kicking we deserved for such sloppiness.
But it did give me something of an insight into the workings of some other areas of the trade press about which I had only previously had my suspicions.
Hahaha that is a pretty massive fail… ouch..!
Way to turn a negative into a positive!
checkmate!
Leading Tim, leading. Nice work 🙂
Is there really any need for this??
I am rather amused lately by how many of your articles pop up on A Current Affair and Today Tonight…
Oh dear. Some red faces over at Campaign Bitch.
Ouch. Nicely played, Tim.
Tim,
The old map directories used to deliberately put in tiny made-up streets to expose copying by competing ratbags.
Looks like you’ve done just that without even trying to.
Thanks for the explanation and owning up to a mistake…seems you are human too – just like us.
Conversely – I suggest Clemenger or HJ’s did this on purpose as the same breakfast story raised it’s ugly head in the burger trade mag too.
Wow, you know they could get a colourist onto that Hoges ad and bring it back and I bet it would do gang busters… Might not be how we want to see ourselves but I think it’s how the Americans like to…
