Chargebar pops up in Brisbane airport

Chargebar, a media start-up that makes kiosks where people can charge their mobile phones for free, has secured its first deal with an airport.

Brisbane’s domestic airport is the first air terminal in Australia to install a chargebar, with Vodafone the first sponsor.

The platform, which allows advertisers to run stills, TV spots, games, web banners and live feeds, as well as branding on the chargebar itself, has been used mostly in pubs and shopping centres to date.

“We’re excited to have Vodafone as our first sponsor in Australian Airports – the tagline ‘power to you’ has great synergy with our branded utility,” said founder and MD Jonathon Tanner. “We’re thrilled with the high usage after just one week and the goodwill which is being generated for the Vodafone brand.”
