Clemenger BBDO Melbourne seeks new CCO after Psembi Kinstan departs
Psembi Kinstan heads to Europe
Clemenger BBDO is recruiting a new chief creative officer in Melbourne following the departure of Psembi Kinstan to 72 and Sunny Amsterdam.
Kinstan joined the now-defunct DDB Melbourne in 2021, leading the DDB, Mango, and Tribal teams, and was promoted to CCO of the local operation in November 2024. A year later, DDB was folded into Clemenger BBDO.
Mumbrella has confirmed Kinstan’s move to 72andSunny in the Netherlands. Clemenger BBDO is expected to appoint a successor, although the agency has not confirmed whether recruitment has formally begun.
The agency is understood to be planning further structural changes but will maintain a trio of creative leads nationally: Stephen de Wolf, who re-joined as national creative lead in September, Matt Chandler in Sydney, and Kinstan’s replacement in Melbourne.
In a statement, recently promoted Clemenger BBDO co-CEO Mike Napolitano described Kinstan as a “world-class leader.”
“He and I share a common view of what a modern creative business should have — an unfair share of the best talent in the market, world-class thinking that is commercially powerful, and a way of working that generates fun,” Napolitano said.
“For the last three years, he has gone to work helping to make DDB exactly that. He is universally loved and respected by our team, clients, and the broader industry, and I couldn’t be prouder to call him a mate and my creative partner.”
Meanwhile, de Wolf called Kinstan an “ambitious, talented, brilliant leader, and even better human.”
“That’s the Psembi I’ve been fortunate enough to have orbited now twice in my career,” he said. “It’s also why it came as no surprise when he said he has unfinished adventures outside of Australia that he and his beautiful family need to go on. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was over the moon about Psembi being part of Clemenger BBDO’s next, but I’d be lying now if I said I wasn’t even more excited for his next.
“If you know him, you’ll know he’ll do brilliant things. Psembi, thank you for your partnership, creative leadership, and friendship.”
