Creatives After Dark launches platform for frustrated adlanders
An anonymous adlander has launched Creatives After Dark, a platform for those in the industry who are frustrated with the lack of creativity in their day jobs.
The platform claims it will showcase “the after-hours creative pursuits of adland’s stifled and frustrated creatives.”
It cites increasingly complex briefs, a dependency on analytical data, “just f*cking do its” and fearful clients as the primary reasons why advertising has become an increasingly stifling environment for creative thinking and output.
Great idea! Even as a way of venting frustration. I can’t begin to describe the frustration of being an advertising creative in a big agency. If your account-service are bed-wetters — and mostly they are — you end up with work that’s embarrassing. And then you have to use it to get your next job when the client dumps you for an agency offering more disruptive work.
Tip: If you want your creative to improve,don’t look for new creatives, look for new your suits.
