Cummins & Partners hires RGA’s Rebecca Bezzina as managing director for Sydney office
Cummins & Partners has raided RGA’s Sydney office for its Rebecca Bezzina as its new Sydney managing director.
Bezzina was one of the first members of the RGA Sydney team joining in July 2013 as client services director and rising to be managing director – client services as the office grew from five to 60 staff.
In the new role she will be responsible for the direction of the Sydney office of independent full-service agency Cummins & Partners, which was opened a year ago after it picked up the Vodafone creative account.
Cummins & Partners CEO Chris Jeffares said in a statement: “Rebecca is a true modern marketer and her depth of experience across brand, loyalty, digital and data-driven communications is unique. We had a very tight brief for the sort of leader we wanted to join us, and Becs fits perfectly.
“She is passionate, driven and has an insatiable drive to help shape the industry, with C&P as a standout leader.”
Before joining RGA, Bezzina served as group head at M&C Saatchi leading the Commonwealth Bank account.
“I am incredibly excited to be joining Cummins&Partners. Two things really stood out for me. Firstly, their powerhouse executive team in CJ, Tom, Jules, Kirsty and Adam,” she said in a statement.
“Secondly, they have a really progressive model as a creative: media agency in an industry where clients have a growing need for non-traditional, progressive thinking and innovation.
“I look forward to helping lead this change both internally and for our clients, with Vodafone being an amazing opportunity due to their leading position in technology, customer engagement, mobile and mobility. It’s really the sweet spot.”
In April Julian Schreiber and Tom Martin joined as executive creative directors and partners in the Sydney office.
A gun hire, one of the smartest suits around
clever all round. Cummins hires great talent Am amazing trajectory for a young agency. What 4 years old?
Congrats Bec !
Massive news. Congrats Bec!
They certainly are now gathering some great talent in Sydney and Melbourne.
The bigger story is what is happening at RGA? Will it fall to the same fate as Droga 5 being drowned by the weight of New Yow office’s reputation? It has been around a year less than Cummins yet no one can name any work they have done.
Well done Bec & CJ. Gav & Hamish next?
Congrats Bec!
Correction.Jo Rosario(now CEO) at Ogilvy Melbourne was Group Head and Lead on Commonwealth Bank at M&CSaatchi not Bec.
Rebecca was Group Head. Jo Rosario was Managing Partner.
Unnecessary correction. Bec was Group Head on CommBank (Jo was Managing Partner)
Probably worth getting your facts straight before making bullshit unnecessary corrections
(and well done Becs)
Jo ran the bank at M&C.believe me I know she kicked my ass often enough.
Love. Your. Work.
So proud of you Becs, amazing news. You are so bloody good at what you do, there’s no doubt Cummins&Partners will succeed under your leadership. Now, who is going to join this all star line up…. Watch this space!!!
I don’t think Becs could give a flying fuc if she was gad or whatever from years ago.
She’s now got the steering wheel of a very hot agency. Well done.
Well done teenager. Kicking ass as per usual.
A gun and driven, I look on from a distance. A huge talent who I am sure will do brilliantly.
I bet I know why she left RGA…
Let’s see how many other great people slowly jump ship…
Well done CR+P
A safe, wise pair of hands.
Just because R/GA doesn’t obsessively PR every little thing they do (like other agencies mentioned here) doesn’t mean they aren’t doing successful work.
Congrats lady. One of the best!
