Daybreakers opens in Mexico with $315,449, reaching a total of $42.9m worldwide

The Spierig brothers’ vampire film added another territory this weekend, opening in Mexico with A$315,449 and reaching #6 at the local box office, under the name La Hermandad (The Brotherhood).

Daybreakers has opened in Australia, Argentina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Mexico, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Slovenia, Sweden, the US and the UK. Total box office earnings are reported at $42.9m.

The film is a Lionsgate production, shot in Queensland and supported by Screen Australia and Screen Queensland.
