Destination NSW’s PR director joins Virgin Australia

Virgin Australia has nabbed Destination NSW’s director of PR, Kristy Meudell, as its new head of consumer PR and social.

Highly regarded in the tourism and travel industry, Meudell joins the airline with over 15 years experience developing PR and comms for leading destinations and events including Las Vegas, California, Rocky Mountaineer, New South Wales, and Vivid Sydney.

She has spent nearly six years at Destination NSW, leading global PR, earned media and influencer strategies.

In her new role, Meudell will be responsible for evolving the consumer communications strategy across earned and social channels, to drive commercial outcomes for both the airline and Velocity program.

She will work closely with Virgin’s wider marketing and comms team, playing a key role in shaping the future of consumer engagement.
