Diet Coke have pulled off one of the best satirical marketing campaigns ever… I hope…
Shane O’Leary takes his hat off to the genius satirical minds at Diet Coke. Or does he?
“Life is short. If you want to live in a yurt, yurt it up!”
“Just like I’m into getting a haircut and then waiting for people to ask ‘Did you get a haircut’?”
Diet Coke “has” …
“…and the debut of four bold, new flavors. We’re maintaining the essence of Diet Coke while modernizing the brand to invite a new generation of drinkers to try it.”
Oh dear.
“Millennials are now thirstier than ever for adventures and new experiences, and we want to be right by their sides. ”
Oh dearie dear.
Sweet Baby Jesus.
The slogans of these ads make turn the channel or hit mute. Your contention of them being a brilliant ploy to fool people makes little sense. They would lose sales by making consumers feel stupid. No, “just do you” “because I can” are typical of the generation that has many marketers scratching their heads. It is just awful and wasteful advertising. However?
Saw the one with the girl in the faux camouflage jacket calling Diet Coke “delicious.” Been drinking it on and off for years and I’d never call it delicious. Some skinny chick drinking Diet Coke “because I can,” and telling us to “Just do you,” is such a turn off that unless there’s nothing else to drink and it’s heat wave weather, I’ll never drink one again. Ever.
I will never drink diet coke ever again.
