Digital giant AKQA opens doors in Australia through rebadge of DT
AKQA, the last major digital agency network without a presence Down Under has announced that it will expand its network into Australia via a rebrand of digital agency, DT.
DT was founded in Australia as DT Digital by David Trewern and is now owned by WPP. It rebranded to the simplified DT in 2012 when it was owned by STW, which was, in turn, taken over fully by WPP last year.
So same team, experience, but with a new name?
Sort of like renaming my 3-legged dog from Ron to Rex
Haven’t they just merged with Tongue? AKQATongueDT is a far better name
I don’t really get the point of this press release?
Aren’t they basically saying:
“AKQA wins client. AKQA can’t service. AKQA finds a loophole, partners with DT”.
I’m not normally one of the haters here… but really struggling to see what this release is doing for either agency.
Haven’t we seen this sort of thing before? Good luck with all that…
So just read the original article from 2016…
Looks like DT was removed from brand roster, then AKQA won it… then partnered with DT via a rebrand.
Reads like a big waste of time and money right there 🙂
Recognition on a global scale! Well done and well deserved Brian and team.
