Dr Andrew Rochford and Mark Humphries to host Ten’s Pointless
Ten Network has unveiled Dr Andrew Rochford and Mark Humphries as the presenters of its upcoming quiz show Pointless.
Rochford, a medical doctor, who recently presented Channel 10’s The Biggest Loser, will co-present the British game show alongside Humphries, who this week departed from SBS Viceland show, The Feed.
The show, which has been slated for the slot left vacant by the recently-axed Family Feud, features three teams of two contestants who compete for a prize by finding the most obscure answers they can across a variety of topics.
Ha ha, nice one Tim.
Yawn, what a shame we really are running out of original ideas. Just watch the excellent UK version on the ABC, without 10 minutes of promos

Only 3 teams? Sounds stuffed before it has even started! UK version is fabulous. Alexander and Richard have a rapport that I doubt these hosts will be able replicate.
Television executives appear to have no imagination at what they serve up to viewers, and this is the latest copy cat. Love watching The Chase, UK version, the host never tried to BE funny, he had a great sense of humour, unlike OUR version, who is theatrical and a camera hog. Now we’ll get a copy of Pointless and like the Chase, it will be a poor copy. Nothing original .

What a POINTLESS show. Channel 10 is reaaly rummaging through the garbage with this one. Bring back Grant Denyer, Gold Logie winner & best presenter. Big big mistake Channel 10! Won’t be watching this pointless idiotic show.

Having watch the UK version for a long time on both Foxtel and ABC, I was a little excited about an Aussie version…..then I saw the promo….what a condescending [Edited under Mumbrella’s comment moderation policy]. The LAST we need is a pair of bloody know-it-all’s lauding over everyone how clever they are at their trivia knowledge and talking down to the particpants. I will watch the first couple of eps, but the promo hasn’t been a good slice of what’s to come, so consequently, I won’t be expecting much…just a poor mans version…and that’s disappointing.
Only needed to watch the shorts to see this is a sad imitation of a great tv show. Trust channel 10 to trash it.
Have watched the UK version of Pointless for a long time and always wondered what it would be like to have an Australian version. Was excited when I heard that an ‘Oz’ one was happening and then I saw the promo’s. You have to be kidding channel 10. What the? Very dissapointing choice of host. If it does nothing for me on the first watch I will definitely be switching OFF!
Here we go again, Australia tries to replicate another brilliant UK game show. Why do we bother, besides the Chase we don’t do this well. Time will tell but already just by looking at the promos it’s not looking promising. Thank god Grand Denyer isn’t hosting.
I find the relentless advertising “pointless” ,I am turned off the show already. Family Fued was my favourite show.
I believe that later episodes of pointless in the Uk have been reduced to 3 teams from the original 4.
The shows on the ABC are ancient and they are running repeats as per usual.
This show sounds “pointless” the average family ain’t gonna get it, an the facts you have paid actors on the adverts pretending to enjoy it makes it more annoying, deffs not gonna watch hope goes off air . RIP Family feud
Rather than diversity, such as Boss Guthrie is enforcing at the ABC we need talent. Any form of preference on the basis of criteria such as skin colour, religion, gender, ethnicity, sporting preferences or physical characteristics is simply abhorrent.
Its all too quick with only three couples and the host is nothing like a Grant Denyer character which would have been better. Switched it off half way through
Andrew is great but Mark shouts all the time. I’ll watch one more night then you’ll lose me.

First show just screening now, it’s good but wish Mark Humphries would stop shouting. It’s annoying. The doc is a good choice for the program.
Andrew is great but the fellow with him is toooo loud and theatrical – just like the oz host of The Chaser.
Will watch one more time then I’m off to another channel. Why do we screw up doing overseas programs?
Hi , I don’t know where u guys are getting your shows from?? But to take Family feud off?? @ replace it with the most stupid show ever, the show is called pointless??? How true that is,Grant Denyer, is the best thing that channel 10 has,but to replace him with this ridiculous show!!!! U have lost me.
Let’s face, the show won’t last here in Australia because most Australians are too dumb. They can’t even grasp the concept of the show let alone answer any of the questions.
The “adjudicator’, ( a doctor?..of what!) referred to the Louve, “as a place that has art in it”

Seriously – “Fantastic entertainment for the whole family” maybe for your family who are on the border line of “moronic” but most out in viewer land will NOT be entertained. Hope the contestants got paid well to appear!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why would 10 take off a show that seems to be a favourite with many people to replace it with an unknown boring Englishman, such a lack lustre show. BORING! Who makes these decisions.
I certainly agree with you Rita. I have now watched 2 episodes of Pointless and will not be watching it again. It has no umph like Family Feud had and is slow slow and pretty boring. The host is hopeless, nowhere as good as Grant Denyar or Larry Emder was on the Price is Right or Wheel of Fortune. It wont last long. Bio! Get it off.?

I did notice that the contestants look like they are being held at ransom or something !! It’s a bloody awful show.

I do not like the Aus version you have cut it short with only 1 set at the start and only 3 teams, the compare voice is just grating and is just so hard to listen.

If they want any chance of making this show work they should definitely replace Mark Humphries as host, shouting all the time when he thinks his being funny just so he can get on camera, his just plain annoying get rid of him
This show is absolute garbage and the host gets on my nerves. To think they axed Family Fued for this rubbish, Grant Denyer is way better
Good try but not really a family show. The ‘jackpot’ prizes are far too low and Mark makes out that they are really worth appearing for!! No consolation prize like a voucher or something. Maybe contestants just go on for the ‘fun’ of it? Will not knock the hosts. They’re doing their best with a rather pointless show. Shame about that!

Also chase get rid of Andrew he hogs the camera isn’t funny at all it’s about the contestants not him and cut if his hands h also doesn’t need to handshake all the time
Watch the UK version he is a far better host and doesn’t think the show is alll about t him as Andrew does
And why all the repeats on72 if all the uk shows from 7.30 to 10.30 pm I can’t watch them any more know what is going to have pen before it does seem them all
