Eddie McGuire to host Triple M’s Melbourne breakfast show

Triple M’s scheduling shake-up is continuing with Eddie McGuire returning to radio to host the Melbourne breakfast show.

The Channel Nine presenter and former CEO will be on air from Monday as part of a blokey, sports-oriented panel also featuring former Western Bulldog Luke Darcy, sports broadcaster Mieke Buchan, and comedian Tony Moclair,

The station has also tempted Jay Mueller – who formerly handled 3AW’s Neil Mitchell morning slot – across as executive producer of the show, which will be called Hot Breakfast.

Earlier in his career, McGuire called football on Triple M, and he worked on the breakfast show a decade ago. He said: “I suffer from loyalty in a big way so when the opportunity came to have another go with Triple M it definitely sparked my interest. We’ve come up with a formula that’s going to deliver something unique to Melbourne. The name of the game is having an insider’s point of view – if something happens in this town you’ll hear about it on our show.
