Edelman Australia has made its chief client officer and former acting country manager redundant.
Amber Scotto Di Perta had been with the communications firm for nearly ten years, having joined in April 2016 as a director.

During her tenure, she rose through the ranks, becoming chief operating officer in 2022, before taking on the chief client role last year. She was also acting head of Australia in 2022, managing the agency prior to Tom Robinson’s appointment as local CEO.
Scotto Di Perta worked closely with Robinson, managing the firm’s operations across Sydney and Melbourne. She led Edelman’s campaigns for travel, tourism, FMCG, and financial sector clients over the years. Scotto Di Perta was one of Edelman’s longest serving staff members locally, who, according to sources, was a favourite among clients and drove revenue for the firm.
She took to Linkedin to announce her departure over the weekend.
“It’s hard to encapsulate nearly a decade at Edelman. They say that it’s the people that make a place and this couldn’t be more true for me. I said to the team the other day that I feel like I’ve lived through many Edelman ‘eras’ — three different offices, five different roles, and countless incredible and extremely smart colleagues, many who I now call friends,” she wrote.
“Thank you to all of the leaders, clients, colleagues and friends I’ve had the privilege of working with. You know who you are.”
She said she doesn’t yet know what her “next chapter” entails, but she’s excited “for the future and what that may hold”.
Edelman thanked her for her contributions to the firm, and wished her “all the best in future endeavours”.
Robinson said she played a “pivotal role across both local and global client work”.
“Her dedication, leadership, and the energy she brings have left a lasting mark on the business in Australia, across APAC, and globally,” he said in a statement to Mumbrella.
“Personally, Amber has been an incredible partner in the business for 3 years, I am deeply grateful for all that Amber has afforded myself and our teams across the business; she will be greatly missed.”
The global comms firm is no stranger to high-profile redundancies. In 2023, Mumbrella understands former Australian boss and APAC vice-chair Michelle Hutton was shown the door. Just two weeks later, APAC corporate head Susan Redden Makatoa was also laid off.
Doesnt Edelman have an entire team dedicated to stopping headlines like this?
