Expat adman Jeremy Perrott fired by McCann Health following code of conduct complaints
Australian expat adman Jeremy Perrott has become the latest creative boss to be fired for inappropriate behaviour.
McCann Health terminated the global chief creative officer’s employment yesterday after an internal investigation over allegations Perrott had breached the company’s code of conduct, Adweek reports.
I’m raising an eyebrow at how vague these press releases have been (from Ogilvy and McCann Health). I’d have more respect for an agency who weren’t afraid to discuss the specifics (they’ve fired these guys after all!) and take a stand against that sort of behaviour. Yes, we’re an industry ruled by arrogant, entitled middle-aged men who have been in their jobs forever. Yes, it’s good these people are finally being moved on. Let’s call a spade a spade, for god’s sake.
I realise that publishing the specifics may move the situation from breaching company conduct to a legal case so do understand that. It is wonderful agencies like McCann and Ogilvy are taking a stand now and doing the right thing by their good people. Bravo.
…code of coduct… ?
Press releases are vague when information is wrong or has been manipulated from the truth.
