Fairfax Magazines appoints Sport & Style magazine editor
Fairfax Magazines has appointed Ben McKelvey editor of The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald’s Sport & Style magazine three months after the controversial departure of Nik Howe from the role.
McKelvey has most recently worked as a freelance writer. Prior to that he was features editor at Ralph magazine and editor of Juice magazine.
Howe, the launch editor of Sport & Style, left the publisher in December to oversee his own branded content agency.
However at the time Lisa Hudson, Fairfax Magazines chief executive and publisher told Mumbrella: “He did not quit. He was fired for misconduct. He was dismissed.”
It took Fairfax THREE months to find someone who used to work for Nik – didn’t Ben briefly work for him at Time Out?
Congrats to Ben. A dynamic player with great ideas.
Congrats Ben!! No doubt you will do a cracker of a job.
I hope you negotiated a suit allowance.
