Fairfax’s junior journalist program

A program run by Fairfax and Express Media is looking for high-school aged journalist wannabes to contribute to the website The Under Age.

The Under Age is looking for up to six writers to write for the website for up to one year while being mentored by experienced journalists.

Joe Toohey, CEO of Express Media CEO, said while the students wouldn’t be paid, they would get to participate in 20 to 24 workshops with employed journalists.

“The Under Age was set up in 2011 as a way to give young people a structured introduction to the industry.
