Fox Footy wins best subscription TV channel at ASTRA Awards
Fox Footy was named channel of the year at the 11th annual ASTRA Awards celebrating subscription TV at the Sydney Theatre in Walsh Bay last night.
Another big winner was The Lifestyle Channel, presented five awards overall including the subscriber-voted categories of favourite male and female personality, as well as best Australian program and best international program.
The Showcase channel won four awards with Australian drama Tangle taking three in the industry-voted categories for outstanding male actor, female actor and drama. Three Tangle actresses were nominated in the female category and Catherine McClements took the prize.
A total of 22 awards were presented including an inaugural lifetime achievement award for the presenter known as “Mr Movies”, Bill Collins.
Pleased to see Tony Robinson’s Time Walks (The History Channel) win an award. I found the series to be both interesting and enlightening.
