Gawk Outdoor expands to regional NSW, appoints director of sales

Gawk Outdoor has announced its plans to expand into regional NSW, with four new digital billboards launching next month, and has welcomed a new director of sales for NSW.

The move marks the OOH company’s first significant venture outside of its traditional stronghold of regional Victoria, with the four billboards launching in the greater Newcastle area on November 18.

Having experienced steady growth in the regions, Gawk has built a reputation as a key player in connecting regional businesses with their local audiences.

“This is bloody exciting for our business,” said Gawk director, James Course.

“These first four panels across the Hunter are already proving popular across local clients since opening presales.”

To spearhead the expansion, Gawk Outdoor has appointed a new NSW director of sales.

Sam Brown joins from Nine where he was business director, leading effective radio advertising across Nine Radio’s stations 2GB, 3AW, 4BC, and 6PR.

Prior to that, Brown worked at JCDecaux as a senior account manager, the Newcastle Knights as the head of digital sales, and at Metricon as a regional sales manager. He also brings experience from SCA and Mad Media Group to the new role.

With all that experience across media and sales, particularly in the regions, Gawk said he is well-positioned to lead the company’s growth in regional NSW.

“We’re stoked to bring Gawk’s unique outdoor advertising brand to regional NSW,” Brown said.

“It’s a market that deserves high-quality, impactful advertising for businesses of all sizes, and we know we can deliver that.”
