Getaway’s audience goes away but so does Matty Johns’
Seven’s The Matty Johns Show and Nine’s Getaway both took a battering on Thursday night in the face of Aaron Harvie’s elimination from Masterchef.
The Matty Johns Show was 15th for the night in Sydney and 10th in Brisbane while the audience for Nine’s Getaway melted to 715,000 – 17th for the night.
In other markets Seven showed a Vicar Of Dibley Easter special which placed sixth in Perth, 10th in Adelaide and 12th in Melbourne.
Maybe it’s time for Getaway to take a well-earned break!!!! Gettit? Ahhh, it’s a lemon, go back to your lives, people….
“Matthew has destroyed The Footy Show in Sydney and Brisbane. That’s what counts.”
What a horrible pack of pr__ks! Play the ball not the man. Why not try to give the audience what it wants rather than trying to destory what others do. So negative. Playground bullshit!
What a shame that Matty Johns show is not slamming it in the ratings.
My sources tell me there is an underground movement of women boycotting Channel7 for hiring men who treat women like rubbish. Ohhh.
So, Ch7: You reward Matty Johns behavior (edited by Mumbrella for legal reasons) by giving him his own show. And you give (edited by Mumbrella for legal reasons) Matthew Newton a top job on X Factor?
Are you kidding? Viewers don’t look like they are kidding either.
Take them off the air.
Seriously?
I just wrote a comment about the audacity of Channel7 hiring Matthew Newton AND Matty Johns. Make your own assumption as to the connection between the two.
And the comment was removed.
Interesting, thanks, mumbrella.
Matty johns show crap tv so good to see it reaping in the viewers…
After what Nein did to Johns, I have no doubt he’s taken great pleasure in smashing them. And, frankly, good on him. His product’s better than The Footy Show anyway and, for our anonymous writer, the audience is packed with women. Enjoy.
So pleasing to see The Footy Show take a dive. The hiring of Johns just showed up Australia’s television boys’ club for what it is – the last bastion for misogynists. Why do we keep rewarding the crappy behaviour of so-called ‘celebrities’ by giving them more airtime? Bah!
