GPY&R creative director Ben Akers joins Republic of Everyone

GPY&R Sydney creative director Ben Akers has left the agency to head up the creative department of Republic of Everyone, the specialist sustainability agency behind the Say Yes Australia pro-carbon tax campaign.

Akers leaves the Y&R Brands agency just nine months after joining from Droga5, Mumbrella can reveal.

The appointment will see Republic of Everyone’s current creative chief Ben Peacock, who is co-founder and partner, take on a strategic role at the agency.

Peacock told Mumbrella: “To thrive in this space, it’s not enough to just understand advertising. Ben is an awesome creative talent. But he also shows a lot of interest in sustainability, which is essential for this role.”
