Greens hire Republic of Everyone for election push
The Australian Greens have appointed sustainability communications agency Republic of Everyone as the political party prepares to mount its election campaign offensive.
Republic of Everyone will team up with the Greens’ research agency Alex Frankel and Associates to develop a campaign platform before the Australian public heads to the polls in September.
Ben Spies Butcher, Australian Greens Co-convenor, said in a statement: “The Greens have the most comprehensive policy platform and are the most united and cohesive party. But we know elections are also about communicating that effectively. That is why we are delighted with this collaboration.”
“It is important to show how effective communication can be combined with a progressive and grassroots politics. That’s what Republic of Everyone and Alex Frankel and Associates are committed to. Political debate has become more callous and brutal. We will provide an alternative vision for a compassionate and caring Australia,” he said.

With all the indicators and with any luck these idiots will be annihilated at the next election. They only get in on Liberal preferences anyway. Their spokesman claims they have “the most comprehensive policy platform.” That’s true if you’re a spoiled, rich ageing white middle-class person. But for the rest of us where jobs, mortgages, childcare, public transport, education, cost of living etc is the prime driver and NOT saving the endangered numbat in the Tasmanian wilderness then the Greens are totally irrelevant. That’s why over 90% of people DIDN’T vote for them at the last election and (hopefully) that will halve again this year. Quite frankly they need all the PR they can get….

The Greens are definitely a viable option for an Australian community serious about maintaining a balance between productivity and conservation. I like their civil approach. If the Greens can support their ethos with sound budgetary projections and policies, they might surprise the naysayer’s with additional seats in the upper house. Good luck to the Green Party. Good move to break away from the current caustic Labor party antics.
As Singo wrote in Quadrant magazine Dec 1975 “If you have a rotten product no amount of advertising will make people buy it”.

Used to like the Greens when Bob Brown was around. Now their siding with the LNP on key issues, for example to ditch the ETS, just demonstrate their true colours. Won’t be giving them support ever again.

@WD whats your point? All of those things you listed don’t really matter when there isn’t a world to support it. A longer term view of the world might help you sound a little less bitter and while making your own world better.
The greens would not be a “Viable option” even if all the other parties withdrew and were replaced with a Cyclopean giant with a huge thorny club. They were a failure in the boom.
I agree with many of the ideals for which the greens stand, but the naivety abounds and anything vaguely resembling leadership is, alas, well beyond them.
Any campaign designed to to boost their leadership image is bound to succeed as an obvious example of just that.
