Greg Ellis quits as CEO of REA Group for ‘overseas’ role

Online property sales group REA has confirmed its CEO and managing director Greg Ellis has handed in his resignation and is set to pursue an “overseas appointment at a non-competitive organisation”.

In his five years in the role Ellis has seen the group flourish, becoming the dominant player in online property with the Realestate.com.au brand the biggest in the country, and the overall group the biggest floated media property in Australia.

He said in a statement to the Australian Securities Exchange this morning: “I’ve always said it is the people at REA Group that sets the company apart from other businesses.

“This has been the key to the group’s accelerated performance over the past few years and I am confident that we have the right team in place to lead the future growth of the company.”
