Groupon in Antarctica group buying deal first

Groupon is launching a group buying travel first – deals on trips to Antarctica.

The travel deals to Antarctica go live at midnight on Groupon’s travel section.

The company says the Antarctica launch is a sign that Groupon is no longer just a daily deals site, but a genuine contender in the online travel space.

Groupon’s new travel arm, Group Travel, launched in August. Groupon claims to be the first group buying company with a travel agent license.
