Helen Lecopoulos departs Woolworths media role

Helen LecopoulosMedia veteran Helen Lecopoulos has departed Woolworths less than six months after the retailer opted to remain with its media agency Carat.

A spokesman for Woolworths today confirmed that Lecopoulos, who was head of media at Woolworths, had departed in December after 14 months in the role.

Lecopoulos was previously head of media and sponsorships at McDonalds before moving over to Woolworths to run the $240m media pitch.

However, the process of the pitch became drawn out following the appointment of chief marketing officer Tony Phillips in March. It is thought that while Philips favoured retaining Carat Lecopoulos favoured a move to another media agency.
