Hyundai appoints Weber Shandwick for PR push
Hyundai has hired Weber Shandwick as its Australian PR agency, with an initial brief to develop its corporate social responsibility strategy.
Ben Hershman, Senior Manager PR & Events, Hyundai Motor Company Australia, said: “We identified the need for a strategic PR agency partnership that would contribute to our strategic thinking and enhance our leadership position.”
In 2010, the Korean carmaker business had its best-ever year in Australia, growing market share by 1%, to 7.7%. Hyundai is the country’s fifth best-selling car company.
I’m sure any outside contribution to the Hyundai strategic thinking pot would be welcome. The Innocean situation seems to compromise them at every turn.
One gets the strong impression the local outfit are successful in spite of, rather than because of, their marketing strategy.
I had the pleasure of visiting Hyundai’s recyling centre in Seoul in 2008 and was very impressed. Please enjoy my article http://www.manmonthly.com.au/n.....-recycling
Carole,
You mention that “the 2008 recycling quota is currently 16 vehicles a day” which strikes me as a start, but a barely perceptible one.
What is the current recycling quota for Hyundai in Australia?
That should get WS jumping for the astroturf button…
