IMAA welcomes Government’s new procurement rules, encourages states and territories to follow suit

The Independent Media Agencies of Australia (IMAA) has welcomed the Federal Government’s decision to implement new contracting rules that will see government departments and agencies required to source 20% of annual procurement from small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The new rules came into effect from the 1st of July with the aim of giving SMEs better access to large Commonwealth contracts, worth a total of $70 billion annually. The new SME target of 20% is double what is was previously.
