‘It’s been a weekly and daily focus of our teams’: How SCA lead the radio networks on closing the gender pay gap

Southern Cross Austereo has the smallest gender pay gap among its competitors, but there’s still more to do, according to CEO John Kelly.

Last week, the Workplace Gender Equality Agency published the gender pay gap for more than 5,000 Australian companies.

SCA was revealed to have a base wage gap of 5.6% and a total pay gap of 5.9%. This compares rather favourably with both their closest competitors in the radio sector — Nova Entertainment has a 9.0% base wage gap, 6% total pay gap, while ARN had a 10.2% salary gap and a 12% total pay gap — as well as the national average, which was 14.5% and 19% respectively.
