Jobs to go across NSW and South Australia as News Corp re-structures marketing
News Corp has axed a number of roles in its marketing teams across South Australia and News South Wales as it moves towards a centralised model.
The teams affected are responsible for promoting events around titles like Adelaide’s The Advertiser, retail services and tactical marketing communications.
Some major inaccuracies in this story. 7 marketers are remaining the SA marketing team.
Hi Dan,
We have spoken to you about this already on the phone and believe the story is accurate at this stage. What inaccuracies are you referring to? News Corp confirmed the news to us (as seen in their statement) and we updated the story based on your insights that this may not just be affecting NSW and South Australia.
Happy to update the story if it needs it, and make any corrections necessary, but not sure what the issue is at this stage.
Thanks,
Vivienne – Mumbrella
Vivienne, one inaccuracy has been corrected in that the number had been grossly inflated – the redundant positions are minor in the scheme of things with 7 marketers remaining in SA – thank you for correcting this. The overall out-take of the story makes it sound like the local SA marketing team has been greatly reduced which is far from the truth. The outstanding inaccuracy is that we a “moving towards a centralised model” – this is not correct in that we retain a an optimum model of centres of excellence in head office and strong local teams that understand and respond to local market conditions and maintain partner relationships in those states.
Suggest you brush up your CV, Dan.
Thanks AA but I’m good
Inaccuracies, inflated and out of context. The irony is gold.
…and 5 jobs lost at the Hobart Mercury, guess that doesn’t rate a mention as we’re in Tas.
Ask about the how they treat their staff / employees and how they cut them out of any bonus that they have been promised when they do meet their quotas and more. Where and to whom do those extra amounts in stated bonus’ go? Then still lay off staff.
NO PEOPLE SKILLS IN THIS CORP!!!
