Julian Assange dons mullet for You’re The Voice remake
Wikileaks founder and political activist Julian Assange has donned a mullet wig and lip synched to a new version of John Farnham’s The Voice as part of his campaign to be elected to the Senate.
The video – created by Juice Rap News – saw Assange’s scenes shot at the Ecuadorean embassy in London, where he is currently in a standfoff from the British authorities.
The creators of Juice Rap News – the Melbourne-based Giordano Nanni and Hugo Farrant also persuaded Assange to don a headband and green-and-gold Australian singlet.
Can’t be any worse than Emmo.
It’s long but it’s extremely well done. Much better than anything Wednesday Night Fever did. It took me a while it realise it was actually Assange. I didn’t think he’s do it!
Juice Rap News are one of the best and most informative news organisations in the country, taking on issues ignored by msm.
Proud of the way they portray Australia on the world stage.
Would love to know what ‘audience’ the video is seeking to find.
Quality writing, production and staggeringly enough has a clear message. Puts the real Pollies to shame. So, so good.
Sheer brilliance! Shows what a joke Australian politics currently is. Can’t believe they got Julian Assange on there. He’d certainly give our current punters vying for the leadership a run for their money!!!!
@CS What audience? And audience that likes comedy? They’ve had 43k hits so far so they are doing something right!
Shame the herald-sun just cut their video up and played it on their own site rather than embedding or at least linking through so the creators could get some hits and I presume gets some advertising. Still I suppose poor old bloggers and content creators have to earn their right to make a living. You can’t just take other peoples work and comment on it.
Oh Jules… you’re clearly bored!!
Thank you Juice Rap News and Julian Assange for making my day. Loads of laughs. Not sure it will win JA a seat in the Senate but it has made this election worth it for me! Watch it go viral.
