Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom earns $10.272m in first weekend box office outing, a 36% fall on first film
The second movie in the reinvigorated Jurassic Park franchise, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, has brought in $10.272 million on its first weekend at the box office.
The film premiered on Thursday and has earned a total of $11.034m since its release across 734 screens.
The first Jurassic World film – released in 2015 as an extension of the Jurassic Park franchise which had finished with Jurassic Park 3 in 2001 – had the sixth-highest grossing opening weekend of all time in Australia, according to the Motion Picture Distributors Association of Australia. Jurassic World sits behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Avengers: Infinity War, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 and The Twilight Saga: New Moon, after earning $16.070m on its opening weekend.
Should I be a nag…. yeah, why not.
Regarding Incredibles 2004 box office, $20.930 M is a $US figure. It earned $26.733 M in $Aust
Well hasn’t this article turned into a lot of fun for me?
Thank you for flagging my omission of the crucial ‘US’. I have added it in.
FYI, Screen Australia says the film earned $23.44m in 2004, following a 26 December release date, and $16.929m in 2005.
If I’ve made another mistake, please let me know – but I’ve provided the link to the Screen Australia figures for verification just in case.
Thanks,

Hey Vivienne,
Well as long as you’re having fun…
The good news — You’re right, that is indeed what the Screen Australia archive says. Also they’re usually reliable.
The less-good news — That 2004 list includes some howlers.
Incredibles didn’t earn 23.4m in the last 6 days of 2004.
Meet The Fockers has an equally wrong 27.5m for the same period.
In reality, Incredibles running total as at Sunday Jan 2, 2005 was 12,071,041 as extracted from the archive at http://www.urbancinefile.com.au/home/boxoffice.asp .
From the same source, Incredibles last chart appearance on the Week, February 17 – 23, 2005 has Total $ 26,603,207
$14? You what?
We’ve fixed the missing ‘m’ and thank you for your sharp eyes, Another Agency
average ticket prices have climbed to $14.17m
Well now it’s just wrong
RussVB, you are, very, very correct. It seems Paul jumped the gun a little here (and I dread the day average movie tickets are $14.17m). The misplaced, and recently added, ‘m’ has been removed.
As I mentioned earlier, the $14 as the average ticket price in Australia is a Screen Australia figure.
$14.17m was a horrific and accidental invention by Mumbrella.
Goodness me, I’m off to the movies.
Thanks,
Vivienne – Mumbrella
The $14 as the average ticket price in Australia is a Screen Australia figure.
Screen Australia says: “Prices are for major and independent cinemas (including IMAX) in city and suburban areas of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth in current dollars (i.e. not adjusted for inflation).”
It cites the top price for movie tickets in 2017 as $27.00.
You can take a look here:

If you find somewhere selling $14 tickets (and not just on a Tuesday!), please do let me know.
Thanks,

Brisbane’s Cineplex group — 6 locations, standard adult ticket $8.50

Legend! I’m not sure I can justify flying to Brisbane for a cheaper movie ticket, but next time I’m there, they will be the proud recipients of my $8.50.
$10m seems pretty good for an opening weekend. Was the first one in school holidays? Regardless it’s still a good number
Very nice article and informative
I have found one more website http://www.healthycont.com that has lista of information about probiotics
