Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain in Harry Kewell promotion
Kellogg is capitalising on the hype around the FIFA World Cup with the launch of a promotion for its Nutri-Grain cereal, fronted by soccer player Harry Kewell.
Consumers are being given a chance win a Kewell limited edition jersey or a place in Kewell’s boot camp promotion with up to three friends.
The limited edition jersey is being pushed through specially marked packs sold at Woolworths and Safeway, while the boot camp promotion is being promoted in major grocery outlets.
Consumers are being asked to enter through separate sections on the Nutri-Grain website using the code found on their packs.
The promotion, being led by The Marketing Zoo and online by Be Interactive, will run until June 28.
Fraser Taylor, Kellogg Australia marketing director, said: “This campaign helps support our mutual interest in promoting healthy and active lifestyles.”
That’s one ugly jersey.
Should be using Cahill, he is the real star of the Australian team. Strong work ethic, regular EPL exposure, and has more family friendly personality (ask the average Aussie kid who their fave footballer is if you disagree.) Kewell has a bit of the Lleyton Hewitt arrogance about him, not to mention the horrific tattoos, to Cahill’s awesome mauri totems.
My bet is that he will be injured or fizzle at the World Cup and go manbag shopping with Becks. End of message.
Nice opinion Jake – except Timmy Cahill is a Weet Bix kid…
I would have used David Beckham
Kewell’s management are brilliant, they’ve managed to keep an over rated injury prone player who hasn’t done anything for over 5 years in the public eye. Cahill is the star, kewell is score one ‘wonder goal’ when they are already up, then either get injured or be completely inaffectual.
No scrap that…..AIR Jordan!
And Jake, Tim Cahill is of Samoan ancestry, not Maori.
Marketing Zoo off the mark again!!
“Healthy” says Fraser Taylor of Kelloggs.
Seen the sugar content of this crap?
But Harry is so hot and he will sell the product!
Hey Hank, the goal against Croatia mattered, oh and so did the first penalty against uruguay, the one against uzbekistan to go to second round of qualifications, there’s about 100 for Leeds that mattered and who can forget the one against England where he made Rio look like an even bigger knob?
At the end of the day, this promotion will work – regardless of whether it’s Harry or Tim (and yes, Harry may not make it there yet as he is subject to so many injuries), because I know my kids will pressure me into buying it for the entire World Cup. The imagery is brilliant and right in your face. Nutri Grain is only on my shopping list as a treat, but I can see there will be real pressure over this one!
Kewell’s goal against Croatia was offside – Australia shouldnt even have been there!
OMG Soccerwho! That would the first offside in an important match ever, wouldn’t it? I think the Socceroos need to improve their ‘falling over’ skills when someone comes within cooo-eee of them.
Its an average promotion that might move a bit of product on promotion but not build any real equity in the brand. They should have steered clear given the strong link between Weet Bix and Tim Cahill/Socceroos.
soccerwho?? u think its offside….sure thats your opinion…i respect that but
maybe the croats should keep their hands off the ball? this is football not handball? or is that diff in croatia???? and there were at least 2 clear cut penaltys in that match for australia and they wernt given! so regardless if it was offside …it shoulda been another 2 penaltys, either way u lose…..u can choose which way u want!
