Latest +61 campaign for Telstra launches

+61, Telstra’s bespoke agency of Bear Meets Eagle on Fire, TBWA and OMD Australia, has launched new work for the telco.
Micah Walker, founder and chief creative at Bear Meets Eagle on Fire, took to LinkedIn on Tuesday morning to reveal the campaign’s collection of spots.
“So proud of this,” he wrote. “26 individual, stop-motion films for our friends at Telstra, to launch our ‘better on a better mobile network’ campaign.”
The campaign features uniquely idiosyncratic characters who live in specific locations across Australia, and benefit from better mobile coverage.
It aims to demonstrate Telstra’s position as a reliable telco, through the undeniably Australian spots.
Telstra’s CMO, Brent Smart, told Mumbrella: “I just love this work. It has the scale to match our network, yet delivers the message with humility and humour and having a bunch of these 15s continually rolling out will make them feel fresh and surprising.
“Huge thanks to our awesome partners at Bear and +61, who really sweated this. The level of craft and care really shines.”
Walker continued: “Cast from a wide variety of authentic Australians from all over the country, the characters come to life as everything from a father and son krill and blokey wattle flowers, to larping Tasmanian Devils and teenage goth cockatoos.
“It’s been a huge production endeavour with too many folks caring hard to thank here, but big shout out to all of you.”
+61 worked with Revolver’s director Jeff Low and animation director Tobias Fouracre.
Deadpan delivery, stop motion, furry animals (And even a fantastic fox!), love my work!
