Leckie: I want to be a media mogul

Seven boss David Leckie plans to become a media owner in his own right when he retires from the network, he revealed today.

In an interview with the Australian Financial Review ahead of the company’s half yearly results announcement this morning, Leckie said:  

“I’m going to try to buy a newspaper or a radio station.”

In the results, just filed to the ASX, Seven’s revenue in the last six months of 2009 was $44m, down 40% compared to the same period 12 months before.
