Lego film due for February 2014 release
The Lego 3D animation film is due for a February 2014 release, it has been announced.
The film is currently in production in Sydney under animation studio Animal Logic and can be expected to hit cinemas for February 28, 2014, according to Deadline.com.
The production, produced and distributed by Warner Bros, was announced in November to spend $48m in NSW, according to Andrew Stoner, acting NSW premier.
Based on a story by director Phil Lord, director of animation Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs as well as this year’s live action film 21 Jump Street, the film is the first full-length lego film.
I am shocked to see the claim that this will be the first LEGO film, has the world so quickly forgotten The Adventures of Clutch Powers?

Clutch was the first full length Lego film. This will however be the first to be released in cinemas.
Clutch was so good he went straight to DVD.

Ignoring Clutch Powers, which is hard to do with his super sexy plastic hair and can do attitude, there’s still Ninjago, the current sensation among kids 3 – 12 years.
That’s a bloody successful film.
If / when I make a film, it won’t be aimed at 30 year old film critics who listen to Radiohead, it’ll be square at the kids that take Mum and Dad to the movies and then buy all the goodies that come with it.
