Less than half of young Australians believe having local screen industry is ‘very important’
The younger Australians are, the less likely they are to believe that having a local screen industry is very important, a poll carried out for Screen Australia suggests.
According to the survey, less than half of all 14 to 29-year-olds felt that it was very important for Australia to have a local film and TV industry producing Australian stories.
In every other age group, well above half of thsoe surveyed said it was very important.
“Less than half of young Australians believe having local screen industry is ‘very important’”
” … less than half of all 14 to 29-year-olds …”
Does this really surprise anyone?
A poll of 1000 Australians is statistically miniscule & does not equate to a headline statement that…..
‘Less than half of young Australians believe having local screen industry is ‘very important’’
C’mon….You guys have far more class that to be behaving like mainstream media!!!
This headline could just have easily read “91% of Australians believe having local screen industry is important”
“The so called science of poll taking is not a science at all – merely a necromancy -people are by nature unpredictable – and although you can take a nations pulse you can never be confident that the nation hasn’t just run up a flight of stairs”.
