Lisa Ronson joins Medibank as CMO

Lisa Ronson has joined Medibank as chief marketing officer and will start later this month.

The former Coles CMO is set to replace Fiona Le Brocq, who is departing after over eight years with the health insurer.

She departed the supermarket mid-2022 to “pursue a number of exciting new career interests”, with the past two years seeing her focus on many non-executive positions, including at Wheelchair Rugby Australia, Chief Executive Women, AANA, and The Marketing Academy.

Her appointment at Medibank comes at the same time as senior marketer Sam Ayres departs, to take on the head of marketing role at AI-driven advertising agency, Cuttable.

“I’m super excited to be joining the fantastic team at Medibank, as their new CMO! It has quite honestly been a lovely process of getting to know the team I will be working so closely with,” Ronson wrote on LinkedIn.

“The company and brand ticks all of my key boxes – great people, culture and a purpose that is truly embraced across the entire business.

“I can’t wait to meet the rest of the team when I start on 22 July!”

She will report to chief customer officer, Milosh Milisavljevic.

In a statement sent to Mumbrella, Milisavljevic said: “We are thrilled to welcome Lisa Ronson as our new chief marketing officer.

“Lisa’s extensive experience and proven track record in building strong consumer brands and leading high-performing teams will be invaluable as we continue to enhance our customer engagement and drive business growth. Her innovative approach and leadership will undoubtedly help us achieve our strategic goals.”

Mumbrella understands Le Brocq will be taking on a CMO role at a not-for-profit organisation, creating a “brand new category”, which will be announced in due course.
