The announcement:
After a ten week intensive course, the winners of the MADC Ignition program were announced last night.
Millie Burke (RMIT), Sophie Beard (RMIT), Louise Khong (RMIT) and Psembi Kinstan (Swinburne) have all won an internship at a major Melbourne agency. Millie and Psembi will be going to CHE, Louise will go to Badjar Ogilvy and Sophie will be working at Grey. They have all won paid three-month contracts with the agencies.
The convener of the MADC Ignition scheme, Lachie Dunn, says he is particularly delighted with this group of students.
“There were 120 people vying for entry to this course and we had ten very strong finalists. The agencies involved have got themselves some exceptional talent,” he said.
Just a month ago, Louise Khong and Psembi Kinstan teamed up to compete in the MADC Creative Raw competition, taking out first place and winning the opportunity for their work to appear in The Age.
During the ten-week course, the students had one-on-one tutorials with their mentors and then came together for a weekly lecture, where they got to meet and pick the brains of some of our industry’s leading experts. Topics included Photography with Stuart Crossett, Digital Creative with Nick Cummins, Copywriting with Michael Mulcahy, Thinking Differently with Ant Keogh, Strategy Planning with Gareth Evans, Folio Preparation with Nick McDonald, Sound Production with Stephen Renfree, Agency Production with Jason Byrne and Post Production with Tim Issacson.
