Magazine ABCs & readership: Famous, GQ and The Monthly are up
Famous had the largest percentage circulation growth of Australia’s mass magazines, data from the Audit Bureau of Circulations for the second quarter of 2009 suggests.
The PacMags title enjoyed circulation growth of 20% to just over 80,000.
Meanwhile, despite a decline of 7%, ACP’s Australian Women’s Weely maintains its dominance over the market, with a circulation of 493,494. In order of percentage growth:

What about the rest of the titles that were up?
Do you have a bias for The Monthy, Famous and GQ?
I know bit of self interest . . . .
Things not so Sunny at “The Week”?
Almost a year since its auspicious $5 million dollar launch and “The Week” still haven’t managed to find their way onto Roy Morgan Readership or a circulation audit through the ABC. The murmers are growing that this title has so far failed to find its audience – which is easy to understand as I don’t know a lot of people who will spend $4.95 so they can read last week’s news.
Fancifully claiming to be “Australia’s fastest growing news magazine” the numbers sure do speak for themselves at theweek.com.au
Projected circulation of 25,000 – June 09 – Obviously forgot to put in an application in time! Readership of 93,000 – Fusion research study – Feb 09 – Roy Morgan? Who?
With the need for transparency more important than ever I guess I should finish off with a simple “please explain”?
