Mark Coad becomes most senior exit yet from Omnicom’s IPG takeover

Australia’s longest serving media agency boss has become the latest casualty of Omnicom’s takeover of Interpublic Group.

Mumbrella can reveal that Mark Coad, CEO of IPG Mediabrands, was made redundant last night.

Coad was in the role – which included overseeing agencies UM, Initiative, Reprise and buying arm Magna – for the last six years. Prior to that Coad rose up through the ranks at Omnicom, including as CEO of OMD, PHD and Clemenger Harvie Edge, before it merged with Proximity to become CHEP.

Coad is also chair of the Media Federation of Australia, a role he only took on in February this year after the exit from the Omnicom Media Group of Peter Horgan.
