Match Media and The Monkeys pick up top agency honours at Mumbrella awards night
Independent agencies have dominated the 2015 Mumbrella Award winners list with Match Media and The Monkeys taking out the Media Agency and Creative Agency of the Year awards respectively.
The awards were held in front of a capacity audience of more than 900 at The Star in Sydney last night.
Match, which has just been sold to French holding group Publicis, also took out the Award for Culture, while The Monkeys won TV Ad of the Year for the Meat and Livestock Australia Day lamb ad featuring the late Richie Benaud. The same work was highly commended in the Ad Campaign of the Year category.
Coca-Cola’s Colour Your Summer campaign won that category and the Media Campaign award, and was highly commended in the Innovation category, which was won by M&C Saatchi for its Clever Buoy creation.
Proud to win as Edelman – but we’re independent, family owned – not WPP owned!
Why isn’t this awards show getting any TV coverage? I think you should strike a 2-4 year deal to broadcast the Mumbrella Awards on Sky Business Live (Foxtel Channel 602).
I await your answer.
Most amusing that this article follows on from one about the “Industry full of ‘bullshit’ and people who like the sound of their own voice”.
Thanks for the suggestion, David. It’s a very interesting idea. Always happy to chat to anybody who thinks there’s a potential audience…
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella
Congrats to the Monkeys – already featured in the The World’s Leading Independent Agencies 2015! http://www.leadingindependents.com. And to all the indies in Sydney. Hope to see you in Cannes…John, we’re sorry to see you go, but hopefully you’ll be back, once you’ve done your earnest for Publicis!!
