M+C Partners allege drug use and ‘erratic attendance’ in ongoing legal battle with former executive Asher Moses
PR agency M+C Partners has lodged its defence against a former executive, Asher Moses, who last year launched court action claiming he was unfairly ousted from the business he built and, as a result, wrongly deprived of his equity in the business.
The agency has now filed its defence alleging Moses “was not attending work in accordance with his contractual terms” and was a regular cannabis user – claims which Moses denies.
Moses joined Media + Capital Partners in 2014, helping to build its boutique PR offering. He alleges in the court documents that he was abruptly terminated in June last year.
If every agency unloaded every cannabis user on staff the industry would collapse. Are the other recreational options OK? Cannabis too bogan for them perhaps?
The industry may lose a lot of people but, from my experience, not a lot of talent.

Funny this new defence just comes out now and slur’s the reputation of a fantastic operator and a good agency. And agree cannabis? What about Coke in agencies? That’s ok?

Yet this company does PR for several medicinal cannabis companies. Many other staff have departed since Moses, obviously a toxic workplace.
Were I Mr Moses, I would respond to this by saying something along the lines of ‘yes, I smoke pot. I also snort coke and drink. I was doing this when you bought the the business I built. You obviously judged then it didn’t affect my performance, and it doesn’t now. By the way, I have done of all of these things with you chaps too. Check these photos dudes!’
Asher has written so many articles about Cannabis for SMH and major publications and social media that any suggestion M&C didn’t know he was using it is ridiculous. And a media agency citing drug use as cause… really?
