McDonald’s gets honest with YouTube reviews
Fast food chain McDonalds has launched a new social media YouTube campaign that allows the company’s Facebook fans to become a “Review Crew” that honestly reviews its new range of burgers.
The video reviews posted over the last few days show customers both praising and criticising the company’s Texan, New York and California burgers.
While some liked the burgers others had less praise. “eh… it was average. I didn’t really like the sweet chilli lime sauce on it,” Facebook fan Peter Phillip tells the camera.
How “honest” is a self-confessed fan of a company going to be?
“Oh yeah, I’m a fan of McDonalds, but their new range tastes like offal”
What do you think of the New York burger?
“It has mustard, and pickles and meat”
How did it taste?
“It tasted mustardy, pickley and meaty”
It. Was. Very Good.
These are the most embarrassing videos I’ve seen in a while. It’s impossible not to cringe when they get them to sheepishly say horrendous catch phrases in American accents at the end of each video.
Whoever came up with this has Ask Jeeves as their go-to search engine and must have first heard of YouTube when the ‘Gangnam Style’ blew up. The likes/dislikes bar is lookin’ like a cigarette. McDonald’s just smoked itself.
If you’re going to use YouTube, use it properly. These are monstrosities. Absolute monstrosities of ‘media’ today.
These are terrible. A great concept really poorly executed.
Cringe!!!!!!!!!!
You would go to New York, see a game and then eat a McDonald’s burger that reminds you of the city you are currently in. Win.
